We’re so grateful to Alistair and Marie, who are bravely taking up the challenge of doing the London Triathlon in August to raise money for Small Steps. They explain why…
“After several years of injuries, being unfit and various obstacles, we’re finally plucking up the courage to run swim and cycle for charity. Ali’s useless at sticking with his rehabilitation but with a goal in mind, we want to raise awareness for a fantastic cause – Small Steps.
This charity is very close to our hearts for a number of reasons. Small Steps, School for Parents helps children with special needs, aged from birth to 4 years, work on all areas of their development, using the principles of conductive education.
These children have cerebral palsy, other forms of motor impairment, syndromes or sensory impairment. They need a great deal of extra stimulation and assistance to help them reach even the most basic milestones. At Small Steps, a teacher, conductor and physiotherapist lead a parent and child team through a structured programme designed to help each child achieve individualised developmental steps. Crucially, it helps parents create an extra special bond with their child which improves their overall quality of life.
The work of Small Steps is truly inspirational and we would be extremely grateful for your support for this very worthy cause, every little bit will make a big difference!”
Please sponsor Alistair and Marie on their JustGiving page if you can. Thank you!
