Alex’s Mum runs the Ealing Half Marathon

AlexWe’re really grateful to Sarah, who along with 3 friends ran the Ealing Half Marathon on Sunday 27th September, to raise funds for Small Steps.  Sarah explains why…

“In June 2012 my son, Alex, was unexpectedly born at 24 weeks. From that moment he has shown tremendous strength and determination, firstly to survive and then as time passed in fighting constant battles and reaching milestones. His extremely premature birth has caused him to have cerebral palsy. Due to having cerebral palsy Alex is having difficulty in reaching a major milestone: learning to walk. This is where a charity called Small Steps plays a big part in our lives. They are an amazing team, who provide us with weekly classes and continually give us support and advice to help Alex. They always leave us feeling as if anything is possible. Their aim is to improve the lives of disabled children and their families. So in September, I will be running the Ealing Half Marathon, along with my good friends, Elizabeth, Emma and Yeemay, to raise awareness and funds for Small Steps. We want Small Steps to continue working their magic for other families.”
